Sevens Attack Course

Next Generation Sevens | Attack

Sevens Attack Course

The “Attack” course is a comprehensive experience for junior players to focus on their attacking game and to work with international coaches and players on all aspects of Sevens attack, both from set piece and open play.

At this course players will attend four training sessions, an attack-specific workshop of their choice and finish the day with the opportunity to play full contact matches.

Highlights include

Warm up like the professionals – complete the same warm up as international players before they play in a World Sevens Series.
Attacking framework – create an efficient Sevens attacking framework using width, depth and compression to manipulate defences.
Beating defenders – take your attacking core skills of catching, passing and beating defenders to the next level.
Decision making – recognise the decision making and technical work required at a Sevens attacking breakdown.
Set plays – build a powerhouse scrum and a dynamic line out and provide the platform to attack. Understand how to attack with purpose from scrums and line outs utilising the whole pitch to maximise attacking opportunities.
Restarts – develop kick off chase and receipt techniques to maintain possession and exert pressure.
Creativity – learn cutting edge penalty moves used by international teams in the World Series.
Focused skills – participate in an attack-specific workshop – a chance for players to identify and develop an area of their attacking game.
Refereed games – play in refereed matches where players can put everything together and unleash their new skills and tactics.
